Our History

Headrick has been creating impactful signage and monuments for over nine decades. Our story began in 1927 with A.B. Headrick, who founded a small sign company in Laurel, Mississippi, specializing in hand-painted signs. This was a time marked by the challenges of the Great Depression, but A.B.'s unwavering commitment to quality propelled his business forward, serving the local community with pride. The company's journey took a significant turn after World War II as neon signs gained immense popularity. Headrick embraced this trend, establishing an in-house neon plant that contributed to the company's flourishing success. Today, we still hold the expertise and craftsmanship to design and manufacture illuminated signs that capture attention and make a lasting impression.

Innovation and Dedication

The legacy of innovation carried on through A.B.'s son, Richard. Recognizing the need for safer fuel pricing signs at gas stations, they developed their first remote-controlled price sign in 1972. This groundbreaking invention propelled the company into the forefront of the fuel and travel industry, becoming a leader in high-rise and accessory signage across the United States. Headrick's dedication to pushing boundaries led us to explore new avenues. In 1999, we received a landmark commission from Dr. Adrian Rogers, Pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. This project involved constructing the then tallest trio of crosses in North America, marking a transformative moment for Headrick.
