At MD Custom Signs and Designs, we're a family-oriented business dedicated to turning our clients' visions into reality. Our team is passionate about providing creative, innovative, and top-quality signage solutions to businesses and individuals in Eastern North Carolina. With the latest technology and design techniques at our fingertips, we specialize in vehicle and boat wraps, custom graphics, business rebranding, print media, window graphics, window tinting, murals, neon, glass etching, and sign installations.

Our team is led by founder Darren De Palo, a Florida State graduate with over ten years of experience in custom signs and graphics. Darren founded MD Custom Signs & Tinting in 2008, which has since been rebranded to MD Custom Signs & Designs. He specializes in vehicle and boat wraps and graphics, custom signage, glass etching, neon, murals, and sign installations. His meticulous approach and commitment to perfection have earned him an excellent reputation in the industry.

Our Executive Creative Director, Robert Matthews, graduated with honors from Digital Media Arts College with a degree in Graphic and Web Design. With extraordinary creativity and vision, Robert views his work as his artistic expression. He specializes in business rebranding, logo design, business cards, print media, vehicle and boat designs, custom graphics, and signage. His unique perspective and creative flair make him an asset to our team.

Our Office Manager, Kim Barber, is an exceptional manager and loving mother of five boys. She ensures the business runs smoothly and keeps the shop in tip-top shape. Kim prides herself on her compassionate, professional approach with clients and employees. She specializes in accounting, bookkeeping, and organization, keeping our operations efficient and effective.

Ashley Matthews, our Promotions Manager, graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with degrees in Communication Studies and History in 2014. With extensive retail and promotions experience, Ashley strives for perfection and is gifted in her way with words. She specializes in building relationships within the community and social media, helping us stay connected with our clients and the local community.

Last but not least, our Master Tint Technician, Shawn Unwin, has over 25 years of experience in window tinting. Shawn is an international window tint competitor and winner, as well as a window tint school instructor. His work has been featured in Better Homes & Gardens and Southern Living.
