Moosehead Signs is a family-run business that has been crafting high-quality signs and lettering for nearly 70 years. Our heritage in the sign industry spans three generations, with a rich history that reflects our commitment to excellence and dedication to our customers. Our story began with Harold B. Stade, who served in the 82nd Airborne during World War II. After the war, he attended a New York City Trade School for Sign Painting and Fine Lettering. He moved to the beautiful state of Maine and the Moosehead Lake area in 1965, where he continued to work as a sign painter until the age of 90. His son, Thomas F. Stade, followed in his footsteps and owned a commercial sign shop in northern New Jersey. In 1997, he moved back to Maine and continued making signs, eventually relocating to the Moosehead Lake area in 2008. His son, Micah H. Stade, grew up working alongside his father and joined the business in 2017, bringing with him high-quality skill sets for production and innovation.
