Our Story

Founded by Vern E. Messner, our company began as the Cleveland Porcelain Enameling Co. in 1936. From humble beginnings in a garage, we quickly grew and relocated to our current location in Cleveland's Slavic Village neighborhood. During World War II, we shifted our focus to treating aircraft parts, and in 1955, we started producing porcelain enameled safety signs. Today, led by the third generation of the Messner family, we continue to produce porcelain on steel signs in our Cleveland factory.
